Hull CVS was formed in 1981 as Hull Council for Voluntary Services and changed its name to Hull Community and Voluntary Services in 2005 to better reflect our aims and objectives.
Hull CVS is a Company Limited by Guarantee, Registered in England (no. 1570120) which reports annually to Companies House. The Company Secretary role is currently undertaken by the Chief Officer. Hull CVS is also a Registered Charity (no. 514311) which must report annually to the Charity Commission.
Hull CVS is governed by an unpaid Board of Charity Trustees, who are drawn from our membership or co-opted for their specific skills or experience. The Board of Trustees governs the organisation in accordance with our governing document, the Hull CVS Memorandum and Articles of Association.
