Moving On by Sarah Danville

There is no where to go, no way out, no goals to reach, no friends about.
It’s so hard to break free.
Everybody has a devil inside them.
Sometimes you can’t control it if it surfaces.
Mine took over my mind, taking drugs of all kinds.
Alcohol problem I have been there too.
You don’t just choose that, it chooses you.
Abuse of all sorts, sexual, mental and physical from time to time.
Always running away, I have found it never works.
Agoraphobia and panic attacks, them I never deserved.
I took some time to think and see what I have to give look at some options and this is what I came up with.
Millennium Volunteers was that best way forward,
I have passions and dreams of a “perfect job”
Sometimes we can’t have everything at the click of a finger.
At CVS we have choices and now I am moving on,
Thinking positive and going into a world I belong.

Being a Millennium Volunteer has given Sarah Danville the opportunity to channel her creativity and experiences in ways that benefit other people – this is what she wanted to do.

The Millennium Volunteer Development Workers supported her in this process by listening to her interests, encouraging and facilitating her ideas and matching her with volunteering opportunities.
