The East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum and FISH would like to invite you to come along and have a stand at our Preparing for Adulthood event. This event is run specifically for young people and their parent carers to gather information about the opportunities available for young people when they leave school.
Young people and parent carers have stated that they are not aware of the opportunities available to them when they leave school. Due to this it is hoped that as many of you can attend as possible to inform parent carers about your services. We have received feedback from young people stating they feel professionals don’t talk to them on their level or ensure they understand the information they have been given. So this event is important for young people so they can communicate with professionals with ease.
The venue will be open for services to set up their stalls at 1pm, and we kindly ask that stalls are not packed away until 6.30pm. Please ensure you can attend for the full day as parent/carers and young people will be dropping in throughout the day. There may be quieter times throughout the day however we would be very grateful if you could attend for the full event.
Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon including tea, coffee and flapjack, please feel free to bring your own food if you wish.
This ensures that we have enough refreshments for everyone!
