The Dept for Education has recently announced a significant funding opportunity to support “local coordination of free holiday activities and healthy food for disadvantaged children during 2019 summer holidays”. The aims of the programme are to develop a more efficient and joined-up approach to free holiday provision for disadvantaged children; and to ensure there is enough good quality free holiday provision to meet the demand from children who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSMs) in the local area across the summer holiday period.
Hull City Council and StreetGames are holding a Summer Holiday Activities and Food Stakeholder Event on Tuesday, January 22nd, 1.30 -3.30pm – The Freedom Centre, Preston Road, Hull, HU9 3QB
This is a significant opportunity for the Hull and the Stakeholder event will bring together partners and providers to for some general discussion around the fund and the opportunities and challenges it presents for Hull to create a city-wide offer that is accessible to all children and young people that are eligible for Free School Meals.
