The Wharfedale Foundation celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2019. Established in 2009 the Foundation provides small grants to organisations across Yorkshire and the Humber that build and strengthen communities by breaking down barriers and facilitating the integration of marginalized groups. The projects we have funded over the last 10 years have been instrumental in ad-dressing divisions within our society by cultivating a greater appreciation of the importance of social justice and diversity.
Each year the trustees host an annual event to showcase the projects the foundation has sup-ported. For this special milestone, we will have two guest speakers who are familiar with the is-sues faced by those supported through our grants programme over the last decade (poverty, marginalization, lack of social inclusion and the need for a safe refuge) and can highlight the challenges facing the voluntary and community sector in the next ten years.
