Are you passionate about the integration of refugees? If you enjoy working with volunteers and developing opportunities to share skills and knowledge, this post could be for you.

We’re looking for an experienced volunteer coordinator to work on ‘Refugee Integration Yorkshire and Humber’, a large new project led by Migration Yorkshire, in which we’re working closely with local employers, services, communities and individual refugees to establish a new region-wide approach to integration. The project is co-funded by the European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

You’ll develop a volunteer programme to recruit and support refugees to deliver training to key public services about ways to be more refugee-friendly. You’ll also explore opportunities across the community for local people and organisations to work together to improve everyone’s experiences of integration.

Key skills and qualities we’re looking for include:

  • Experience of managing volunteer projects and supporting volunteers.
  • Experience of successfully developing and delivering new projects.
  • Able to work collaboratively across teams and sectors.
  • Enthusiastic about the integration of migrants and about ensuring that Yorkshire and Humber benefits from migration.
  • Knowledge of the experiences, needs and issues of new refugees.

This is a full-time post with an option for some home working. The role requires travel across Yorkshire and Humber and occasionally beyond.

You’ll be joining Migration Yorkshire. We provide leadership and local support across the Yorkshire and Humber region. We’re hosted by Leeds City Council and based in the centre of Leeds. Find out more about us at www.migrationyorkshire.org.uk
