Effective line management is a vital part of any organisational success story. Within Hull CVS we recognise that it is particularly difficult for small charities and voluntary groups to instigate and pay for a training programme for their managers/team leaders. So we are proud to announce Hull CVS have entered into partnership with ACAS to offer a comprehensive, subsidised skills training package for Line Managers in our sector.

Market leaders in the area of working relationships and employment law, ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) are well placed to deliver high quality training which provides skills for line managers at all levels to understand their role and improve their confidence.

A certificated, modular programme for line managers/ team leaders who wish to develop or update knowledge, competence and confidence across the full range of employment topics. The programme is focussed on policies and management skills, and provides a valuable and usable management toolkit based on the latest thinking in employment relations.

Covering topics such as ‘Policies, Procedures and Terms and Conditions’ ‘Discipline and Grievance’ and ‘Managing Staff Absences’ this 7 module course is a comprehensive tool kit for line managers, which will enable managers to proactively plan, motivate and succeed.

Effective line management is vital to supporting a hardworking, effective team and enables an organisation to attract exceptional staff and reduce staff attrition.

By investing in the development of your employees, you will not only increase their job satisfaction, morale and motivation, but also provide them with the skill set to increase efficiencies, adopt new methods and ensure that they are empowered with knowledge to become effective line managers.

A well trained and supported manager will improve the overall performance of an organisation and the Hull CVS and ACAS Line Manager’s Passport can help to achieve this. The course will run throughout 2020, a total of 7 full days between March and October 2020.

Enrolment is currently underway, but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please register your interest as soon as possible. Delegates will receive an ACAS certificate of attendance.
