The London North Eastern Railway (LNER) franchise includes a Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF) to deliver projects that will benefit customers and communities along the East Coast Main Line. The funding is available yearly, with the next round of funding available from spring 2019.
We want this to be a partnership fund, recognizing and supporting schemes and projects identified by the customers and communities we serve. To do that we need your ideas and bids and I do hope that you will look at the form attached and send us your thoughts.
All the proposals will be presented to a panel of representatives from all areas of LNER. Their final recommendations will then be put to the Department for Transport (DfT) for approval.
We want bids of all shapes and sizes, however they must relate to the LNER route. It would be great if the fund could help close the gap on projects where some existing funding has been secured, or could be available from other sources. However, each proposal will be treated on its own merits and consideration of the benefit it would bring to the community.
Bids can cover any aspect of local rail services, be it infrastructure or service improvements or indeed outreach and help to support customers. We have not set any upper or lower limits. We really want to see a wide range of bids and have tried to make the process as easy as possible. If you have ideas, we want to hear them.
So that we can start the schemes in spring 2019, we are asking for proposals for this round of bids. The application window will open on 3rd Sept and close on 2nd Nov 2018. The attached form provides guidance notes on the information needed for an application and headings that need to be included. Applications will then need to be sent to the CCIF email address CCIF@lner.co.uk. If you have any questions please contact Rachael Wilson, Stations Partnership Project Manager at the CCIF email address.
For more information, please visit www.lner.co.uk/ccif or if you would like to discuss any ideas you have ahead of submission please contact Rachael. We are keen to encourage as many bids as possible and look forward to hearing from you.
