Hull CVS manages a number of small grants schemes to support local voluntary and community groups, in line with our charitable objects and our mission statement. Individual grant programmes may set out additional objectives. See our small grants page for more details
The grants we administer are:
Clarion Housing Group (formed following the merger in 2016 of Affinity Sutton Group Limited and Circle Housing Group) is the largest housing group in the country and one of its biggest housebuilders. Through its Community Grants Programme – managed by Groundwork – it awards grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 to charities, community organisations and voluntary groups for projects which primarily benefit its residents.
The high street bookshop WH Smith offers small grants through its associated trust. Funding for the WH Smith Trust is generated through the 5p plastic bag charge now in operation throughout the UK. The aims of the trust are to support good causes in the local communities where WH Smith operates, and to promote literacy and a love of reading.
Every month, 5.6 million people in England give up their time to enable others to take part in sport and physical activity.
Our new strategy for volunteering, Volunteering in an Active Nation, sets out our plans to allow more people to engage in all types of volunteering through sport and physical activity.
