In June, Hull CVS attended a loneliness conference organised by MyBabble, in order to bring together professionals across different sectors, including voluntary sector, NHS services and international organisations. There were key note speeches throughout the day from NHS mental health practitioners discussing the impact that loneliness can have on an individual as well as hearing from a Loneliness Pioneer from Plymouth promoting the impact of a loneliness style conference and the success that it has when bring individuals together.
The question that was faced was: “is there a network that exists in Hull which brings together organisations to address loneliness and isolation?”
The answer was YES!
Our Be Connected network provides the opportunity for organisations within the Voluntary and Community Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector to collaborate and share information on how their organisation tackles loneliness and isolation, identifies positive practice in the sector and provides opportunity for joint funding applications.
Hannah delivered a key note speech on behalf of Hull CVS about the work of the Be Connected network and how this platform can be utilised across the city to tackle loneliness and isolation throughout Hull, utilising the amazing work of our voluntary sector!
