A new Support and Advice Line has been set up for those who may be worried about their own, or a family member’s, alcohol or drug use.
The new Support and Advice line has been launched by ReNew, Hull’s alcohol and drug support service.
The Freephone Support and Advice Line is available for people in Hull to use outside of ReNew’s opening hours and is available during weekday evenings 5-9pm and 9am-9pm weekends and bank holidays.
The Support and Advice Line is free to call and open to those who may need help and advice for alcohol or drug use. All of the services are free and confidential.
Carlie Dunn, Project Manager, ReNew:
We recognise that this is an extremely difficult time for individuals and families in Hull and the recent changes to our lifestyles has impacted on some people’s alcohol or drug use.
Coronavirus has changed the way that we access local services and the new Support and Advice Line will help residents in Hull, who are worried about someone’s alcohol or drug use, to get the advice or support they need.
ReNew is delivered by national charity Change Grow Live and commissioned by Hull City Council.
If you would like to speak to someone about your drug or alcohol use you can contact ReNew directly by phone or email.
If you are a partner, family member or friend and are concerned about some please contact them.
Doctors and partner agencies, such as social services, can also refer someone into ReNew, with consent.
