Last week was a momentous occasion for Hull, with Coldplay visiting and delivering two incredible performances at Sewell Group Craven Park.

Beyond leaving lasting memories with their many fans, Coldplay and Love Button Global Movement also worked in partnership with Hull CVS to deliver a two-day event, in appreciation of our local communities and volunteers.

This project was delivered at Holderness House, a historic site of significant importance and consisted of:

• The creation of a community garden within the grounds, which will be enjoyed by the public once the site reopens as a community hub.
• The delivery of a volunteer celebration event, with an incredible 180 volunteers in attendance.

In addition to this, Coldplay generously provided 20 tickets to their performances to local volunteers.

The event captured local and national news outlets. Thank you to everyone involved as you helped us show that volunteering has many faces, but the same cause- to help support our neighbours and better our communities:

Thank you to Holderness House Trust, whose partnership enabled the project, R-evolution for providing invaluable support to develop the community garden.

Our celebration event was supported by the generosity of Hymers College, Heron Foods, Tesco and Morrisons, who provided vital goods and services to make the event as special as it was.

Thanks also to Scrapstore, SHE Productions and Back to Ours for providing entertainment.

Finally, we couldn’t say it better than the feedback we received from volunteers at Sight Support Hull and East Yorkshire, who were two of the lucky winners of our prize draw to win Coldplay tickets.
